Meet Dr. Becky Fraser
I look forward to sharing the principles of integrative/holistic veterinary medicine with you as we work together to give our special dogs and cats the balanced, ideal lives they deserve.
Dr. Fraser grew up in the small town of Winterport, Maine. She attended Elon College in North Carolina for her undergraduate studies in Biology. It wasn’t until her third year of college that she realized veterinary medicine was a much better fit for her than human medicine. In preparation for vet school, Dr. Fraser spent a year in Maine working in a mixed animal practice and then two years at UNC Chapel Hill working in neuroscience research. It was here that she met her husband, Randal.
Dr. Fraser attended vet school at North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in the top 10% of her class in 2007. She focused on mixed-animal practice in school, but decided to dedicate her professional life to dogs and cats. She worked at a busy, multi-doctor practice in Raleigh, NC for a couple years while Randal finished graduate school. In 2010, their family relocated to Baltimore after Randal accepted a post-doctoral fellowship at Johns Hopkins Medical Institute.
In April 2013, Dr. Fraser started a house call veterinary practice doing acupuncture and Chinese medicine after studying at the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. This practice has evolved into Fraser Veterinary Services which continues to offer new services to her patients.
The summer of 2019 was eventful as Dr. Fraser and her family relocated to Massachusetts. While it was hard to leave her amazing clients and patients in Maryland, she is excited to start building her practice in the MetroWest region outside Boston.
In her life outside of work, Dr. Fraser and her husband are raising three wonderful kids. They enjoy lots of time outside – especially summers on the shore in Maine. They share their life with a cat named Taz and a rescue boxer, Max.
