SERVICES

Fraser Veterinary Services is a mobile practice, providing individualized, complementary veterinary care for dogs and cats focusing on the principles of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine.

WHY FRASER VET SERVICES?

Dr. Fraser believes that Western Medicine, while valuable, doesn’t always hold all of the answers for every pet. She uses a mixture of Western Medicine and principles of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine to find the right approach for each patient. This is offered through a variety of complementary services.

THERAPIES OFFERED

Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM) is an ancient treatment system that can be used exclusively or as an adjunct therapeutic modality for animals that do not respond favorably to typical Western veterinary treatments. Dr. Fraser views her practice as complementary to traditional veterinary care. TCVM can be used to treat a surprising array of conditions through acupuncture treatments, Chinese herbs, and nutritional therapy.

TCVM uses a philosophy that is very different than that of Western Medicine.  The veterinary practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) follows the same set philosophies as those used to treat people.  Consideration is given to the balance between Yin and Yang, the Five Elements Theory and Zang Fu Physiology, all of which depend on the balance and free movement of Qi (“chee”), or energy, in the body.  To maintain a pain-free and healthy life, one must maintain a balanced and free moving Qi.

A pattern diagnosis is made for each individual using these philosophies along with consideration for the animal’s personality, environment, diet, stress, daily routine, sleep habits, and exercise.  This allows for a very specific diagnosis and treatment plan tailored to the unique circumstances of the patient.

Dear friends,

I am so excited to be able to offer a very individualized, holistic approach to veterinary medicine.  From my first acupuncture class in the fall of 2012, I knew it was an invaluable approach to healing. It rebalances our pets to give them ideal health and quality of life.

When my son had a severe reaction to penicillin several years ago, I became interested in a more holistic approach to medicine. Since 2009, my family has focused on alternative methods of healing ailments and on cultivating strong immune systems. I wanted very much to do this for my veterinary patients! The opportunity came when the Chi Institute brought a day-long acupuncture seminar to Baltimore. That day changed my professional life and how I think about veterinary medicine.

I am amazed on a daily basis how well our pets respond to acupuncture and other natural modalities.  The more I learn, the more excited I get about what the future could hold for my patients. I look forward to sharing the principles of integrative/holistic veterinary medicine with you as we work together to give our special dogs and cats the balanced, ideal lives they deserve.
